Suggestion: Offer travelers, while booking their flights, the option to ‘buy’ a booking fee

Plane ticket booking options are usually ‘take it’ (with full pay/ no refund) or leave it. This suggestion is to offer customers the option to buy non-transferable seat reservations on certain flights several days in advance to actual flight date. Customers will pay a certain fee that will become part of the full ticket price (when they make up their mind about travelling) or lose it (should they decide not to travel). These reservations will last for a number of days, after which, when the ticket is not finally purchased, the airline will open the seat for other customers.
